I'm creating a thread for talking about your dream amp or amp setup. I hope it will challenge the users (us) to let vox know and give vox an ideal of a perfect amp. Maybe your ideal will end up on a vox product.

Complements and complaints are welcomed. Sometimes a complaints will provoke other user or vox to come up with a solution. Complements let's them know what they are doing right. Please people all suggestions our welcomed. Don't dog a member for their ideals. Try to see it from their perspective and then give constructive criticism.

      Power Conditioners

      I'll go first...

White noise, 60 cycle hum, and feedback is and always has been something I battle with frequently. I use a Monster 2500 Power Conditioner which has a electric level 2 noise suppression. Don't ask me what level 2 is cause I don't know. What I do know is that if my amp is plugged in with a florescent light... It doesn't get that hideous 60 cycle hum. This is cool especially if your playing at a bar that has a ton of those florescent light like: open or beer signs.

It would be awesome if those kind of electrical clean up products where built into an amp.

I'd love to see Vox develop a brand new & truly world class modelling amp that has a real bona-fide power-tube and pre-amp tube design with sophisticated modelling that is indistinguishable from the amps it models in terms of tone, sonic response, valve crunch/distortion, sound pressure, feel, and harmonics. I'd love to see valve purists embarrassed because they genuinely can't tell the difference. In particular, the option to select from two or three different valve configurations for real authenticity.

In short - an amp that could conquer the world. No rush - by the end of next week is fine! (lol)

Alternatively, disregarding modelling, an all valve amp with interchangeable valve pre-amp sections (say with 3 or 4 insertable at any one time) akin to (but even better than) the Johnson amps.

I have a valvetronix ad30 xl and I play more of the extreme metal genre,i love the black tone on it but i was wondering if there was something i could do to get a cleaner distortion with a heavy gain or if my idea would be a suggestion for vox

I'd love to see Vox try completely blendable tubes. I'm thinking of the Egnater Rebel which has both EL84 and 6V6 tubes and you can blend them in any combination, but I think Vox could get some great sparkling sounds if they tried that kind of blending. More EF86s would be cool too!

    Bluetooth!

Like seriously it works for cell phones. Why not guitars, amps, foot switches, and pedals... Applications are endless.

Speaking of cell phone... Cell phone batteries are rechargeable... Why not pedals?

Like truly wireless rechargeable foot switches, pedals, and guitars... Just saying

Good ideas, 50_caliber! I'd love rechargeable batteries.
Here's one: pedals that are rechargeable like the batteries in cell phones, ipods, ect. BUT you can actually hook them up to the computer via USB/firewire and load freeware "patches" for effects and have entire internet communities where people load their "effect patches" and you can create your own with foolproof but deep and complex software that allows you to actually make new systems within the framework. Unless of course this already exists. Try to do that keeping the traditional "stompbox" size and making it more analog in style, instead of digital emulations, embrace the fact that digital allows you to make more complex sounds like LFOs, Oscillator types of distortion, and that could keep costs down. Just please, no more amp emulators!
